Washing

Drying

Ironing

1. Low Heat: If needed, iron on the lowest setting suitable for silk. Use a pressing cloth to avoid direct contact with the iron.

2. Damp Silk: Iron while the silk is still slightly damp or use a steam iron.

Storage

1. Cool, Dry Place: Store silk items in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

2. Avoid Hanging: Avoid hanging silk garments for long periods to prevent stretching. Instead, fold them gently and store them in a breathable fabric bag.

3. Moth Protection: Consider adding cedar balls or lavender sachets to your storage space to keep moths away.

Real silk products can indeed shrink when washed, particularly if subjected to high temperatures. To avoid shrinking, wash your silk nightgown in cold water on a gentle cycle. Refrain from using hot water or high heat in the dryer, as these conditions can cause the fibers to contract. The best way to maintain their original size and shape is by line drying or laying them flat to dry. 

Washing a silk nightgown requires some care, as silk is a delicate fabric. Silk can shrink if washed improperly. Here are some tips to prevent your silk nightgown from shrinking:

• Hand wash: Use lukewarm water and a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics.

• Avoid wringing: Gently press the water out of the fabric instead of twisting or wringing it.

• Air dry: Lay the nightgown flat on a clean, dry towel and roll it up to remove excess water. Then, lay it flat to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

If you follow these guidelines, your silk nightgown should maintain its original size and shape. Happy washing!

Silk garments are among the most prone to color fading due to their dyeing process. Silk, being a protein fiber, cannot withstand high temperatures and pressures, and can only be dyed at normal temperatures. As a result, silk’s colorfastness is not as strong as synthetic fibers or cotton fabrics. Therefore, the expectations for silk’s colorfastness should not be too high.

Besides dry cleaning, you can also wash silk garments with a neutral detergent, especially for darker or brighter colors like rose red, bright red, black, purple, and blue. Even when washed at normal temperatures, silk will still experience some fading, which is a characteristic of silk. It’s important that the washing process is continuous—avoid soaking, pausing, or piling up the garments during washing. During the final rinse, adding acetic acid can help fix the color.

Be sure to dehydrate and dry the garment promptly, avoiding direct sunlight, and dry it in a well-ventilated area. The first wash may result in more noticeable fading, but subsequent washes will see less fading. With proper care, the fading of silk garments can be controlled.

Products must be returned unworn, unwashed, and undamaged with all original tags, labels and packages attached. We do not accept a returned item that’s worn, damaged, washed, or altered in any way. 

Yes. Once we confirmed the receipt of your returned products, we will process funds issued to your original payment method within 3 to 5 business days of the product receipt. Funds may be delayed 1~3 business days to your payment account like credit/debit card.
